Our Story

2023

Prayer Library began as an idea for my capstone project for the end of my software engineering program through BrainStation. I knew I wanted to create something meaningful that I could hopefully work on after I finished my schooling. And thus began Prayer Library. It started out as just a simple search bar where someone could type in how they're feeling and receive prayers and Bible verses related to that feeling.
My vision for this app was to create a space where people can draw closer to the God who sees, hears, and deeply cares for them. In my own life there have been many times when I've found it hard to find the words to pray or questioned who God is and it's been helpful to lean on the words of others to remind me of God's truth for me.

2024

In 2024 I began working on turning the web app into a mobile app as I wanted it to be as easy as possible for people to enter into prayer during any emotion. After completing this transition I also started adding various different features such as using emojis to help users identify their emotions.

2025

2025 has already seen the introduction of new features such as emotional history and prayer lists. As well as overseeing a new look for the app!
